Zmey Dragon family

This is the Zmey set, also made as a suggestion for dragcave.net.

Hatchling based on lines by Fiona blueFire, some of the colouring on the female was done by Corteo.

This breed is my particular baby... they are based on the multi-headed dragons from (mostly north-eastern, since that what I'm familiar with) Slavic folklore and I tried to incorporate elements from those tales - in particular a headcrest that looks somewhat like a crown and of course the three heads that don't always get along with each other.

Since in folk tales these dragons were sometimes used as stand in for various enemies, including nomadic horse cultures from various contact zones in Asia, I incorporated that connection by trying to make the colouring resemble some of the colour patterns found in the Akhal Teke - a gorgeous horse breed from Turkmenistan.
